How to Grow and Care for a Winter Cassia Bush

Pick a sunny area with dirt that drains well. Winter Cassia does best in full sun, but it can also handle some shade.

When you plant, leave about 3 to 4 feet between plants so they can grow naturally. Make a hole twice as wide and twice as deep as the root ball. Then, put the plant in the hole and cover it with soil.

Regular Watering: Water your plant often during dry times, especially in the first year. Once it's established, Winter Cassia can handle some drought, but it grows and flowers better when it has steady wetness.

Use a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in the spring to help plants grow in a healthy way. Follow the application rates given by the maker.

Cutting back: Cut back the bush in early spring to get rid of any dead or broken branches and shape it. During the growing season, light trimming can help plants grow bushier.

Keep an eye out for common pests like aphids and spider mites on a regular basis. If you find them, use insecticidal soap or neem oil to get rid of them.

Disease Prevention: To keep the plant from getting fungal illnesses, make sure there is good air flow around it. Do not water from above to keep the leaves from getting too wet.

In colder places, put mulch around the base to keep the roots warm in the winter. If the temperature drops a lot, you might want to cover the bush with frost cloth.
